The Lost Birds Sculptures Art Walk
Join us for a free exploration of the intersection of art and nature on Stanford Campus. During the session, we will visit each of the five human-scaled sculptures of The Lost Bird Project, which memorialize species that have gone extinct in modern times. These pieces by artist Todd McGrain were originally placed where the birds were last seen in the wild and are now a permanent public installation, showcasing humankind’s impact on the environment and dwindling biodiversity. The exhibition at Stanford will be ending on August 11, so this is a final chance to see these magnificent sculptures!
Staff from Stanford Live and the Anderson Collection will provide background information on the sculptures. The walk will cover approximately one mile at a relaxed pace. We will start and end the walk at the Anderson Collection, Stanford University’s free museum of modern and contemporary American art. You are invited to explore the museum on your own after the session.
This is an in-person class and will not be recorded. Attendance at the live session is required to receive incentive points.
Request disability accommodations and access info.
