Spring Book Club Discussion

Co-sponsored by the Stanford Faculty Staff Help Center

Join us for a virtual book club to discuss Hour of the Heart by renowned psychotherapist Dr. Irvin Yalom and his son Benjamin Yalom. Life is precious and our time together, short. Hour of the Heart shows us how to relate to each other better in the moment, with more honesty and vulnerability. The authors write with a keen awareness of our present moment, navigating the uncertainty and repeated shocks that challenge our understanding of life, community, and relationships.

Irv Yalom, a distinguished Stanford-based psychotherapist and best-selling author, writes with clarity and elegant simplicity. We are invited into his process to summon something from deep within himself to dramatically shift his approach to help those in need while also reclaiming himself. We hope this book inspires you to reflect on how you respond to life’s challenges and to discover your own inner strength to persevere.

Please read the book on your own in advance and join us online for discussion facilitated by the Stanford Faculty Staff Help Center.
