SESSION DESCRIPTION
During this session, we will discuss a novel way to characterize how young children move. We will examine different patterns of activity for boys and girls as they move from the preschool period to the school-age period. From there, we will discuss a novel approach using empiric data and agent-based modeling to conduct virtual experiments that can inform policy to support physical activity behaviors for children.
EDUCATION GOALS
- Describe how young children achieve moderate-vigorous physical activity through different patterns.
- Explain how empiric data can inform agent-based modeling to guide virtual experiments.
- Identify policy relevant strategies.|
