Heart Healthy Mediterranean

The Mediterranean diet is widely recognized as beneficial for heart health. Its emphasis on plant-based foods, healthy fats like olive oil, and moderate intake of fish, poultry, and dairy, as well as limits for red meat and sugar are all associated with reduced risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

In this virtual cooking class, you will prepare a simple and delicious meal based on the heart-healthy Mediterranean diet. As we cook together, the instructor will share some of the nutritional benefits of different ingredients that make up the Mediterranean diet and ways you can modify your cooking to improve heart health. By the end of class, you will have a delicious meal that you and your family are sure to love wholeheartedly!

Ingredient substitutions, including protein options, will be demonstrated or suggested to accommodate most dietary needs and preferences. The recipes, including ingredients and equipment needed, will be sent out at least one week before the class so you’ll have time to shop for ingredients in advance.

This class will be recorded and a one-week link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants. To receive incentive points, attend at least 80% of the live session or listen to the entire recording within one week.
