From The Innovator’s Workbench, featuring Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo

October 25, 2022

Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo exemplifies innovation. She is a problem solver and a consensus builder. In her nearly three decades in Congress, she has defended consumers, promoted American competitiveness and innovation, fought for access to healthcare for families and children, protected the environment, and encouraged development of clean energy technology.

Named one of the ten most powerful women in Silicon Valley by the San Jose Mercury News, Rep. Eshoo has been a leader in tech and telecommunications issues. She also serves as Chair of the Health Subcommittee on the Energy and Commerce Committee. Of the 41 bills she has authored that have been signed into law by four presidents, more than half have been health related.

Dr. Kavita Patel, Senior Advisor to the Stanford Biodesign Policy Program, will interview Representative Eshoo. Patel served in the Obama Administration as director of policy for the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and played a key role in the design of healthcare reform legislation. She also served as policy analyst for the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee under Senator Edward Kennedy.

This free event will be held in-person at Stanford University, with seating available to the earliest registrants and a waitlist when capacity is reached.

The program will also be broadcast via Livestream for those who want to participate online. Livestream details and will be emailed to registrants in advance of the event. Registrants can choose their preferred ticket type within Eventbrite – in-person, space permitting, or virtual.
