Eat Well for Life
For years, doctors and researchers have talked about the quest to increase longevity – how long we live. The newest research, however, is focused on Healthspan, which is how long we live well, free of chronic disease and disability. While many factors play a role in increasing Healthspan, the foods we consume or avoid have a major impact in reducing the risk of chronic disease and slowing down cellular aging.
While “eat this, not that” advice abounds on the Internet, this class is based upon current scientific research related to nutrition and healthy aging. During our three online sessions, we will explore macronutrients, micronutrients, and supplements, helping to separate fact from urban legend. Walk away with confirmation of what you already do well to support healthy aging and a few ways to improve your diet so you can avoid disease risk and look and feel your best at any age.
This class will not be recorded. Attendance requirement for incentive points – at least 80% of all 3 sessions.
Request disability accommodations and access info.
Instructor: Sally Duplantier, MS, is a gerontologist and healthspan educator focused on helping people “live their best life longer.” She has a master’s in gerontology from USC and a certificate in nutrition science from Stanford. Her research is focused on the ways that nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and social engagement impact healthy aging.
