Controlling Gastric Cancer
Gastric cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide and disproportionately impacts ethnic minorities, especially Asian Americans. Karen Kim, MD, will discuss the unique challenges Asians face in relation to gastric cancer and explore strategies to empower these communities for better control and prevention. Dr. Kim will address strategies to increase screening, explore age groups, demographics, and the importance of addressing premalignant conditions while ensuring linkage to care.

Karen Kim, MD, is the Vice Provost for Research and Chief Scientific Officer at the University of Chicago, the Sara and Harold Lincoln Thompson Professor of Medicine, Associate Director of the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Director of the Center for Asian Health Equity.
