CBD 2024: iRest Yoga Nidra: Living, Healing and Dying In Wholeness with Richard Miller, PhD
iRest Yoga Nidra (practices for embodying unchanging wholeness amidst the ever-changing circumstances of life) is a modern adaptation of an ancient contemplative practice that reveals that which is already Whole and Healthy within us. Research conducted at Walter Reed Army Hospital and the WA VA, among 40+ other research facilities, reveals the efficacy of iRest Yoga Nidra for healing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), pain, and other stress, anxiety, and sleep-related disorders. The protocol used in these studies was developed by, and written about in Richard’s book, The iRest Program for Healing PTSD (New Harbinger) and in The Sacred Mirror: Nondual Wisdom and Psychotherapy (Paragon). iRest Yoga Nidra is now being utilized in 25 countries worldwide in a variety of healthcare and other settings as an adjunctive tool for healing dysfunctional states of body and mind, and/or as a process for awakening and embodying our birthright of unchanging wholeness, amidst all-changing states of body and mind.
Through didactic lecture, interactive dialogue, and an in-depth experiential guided practice, this 2-hour workshop guides you through the 12-step iRest Yoga Nidra Program: an educational process that teaches how to identify, explore, and heal underlying dysfunctional psychological and physical conditions, and recognize your inherent ground of indestructible wholeness and well-being that underlies all states of experience. iRest is a simple yet powerful lifelong practice that can be incorporated into all aspects of health, healing, and healthcare. It enables us to feel deeply empowered and connected to ourselves and the world during every step of our journey of physical and psychological health, healing, and spiritual awakening, as well as through the dying process.
