This iPause guided practice session offers participants an opportunity to delve into the principles of authenticity and self-compassion, essential for personal and professional well-being. Through reflective practices, visualizations, and affirmations, participants will explore setting healthy boundaries as a way to practice pausing and reconnecting with their authentic selves to help them achieve professional fulfillment.
Al'ai Alvarez, MD, is a recognized leader in wellness, diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stanford, he directs wellness programs and co-leads the Human Potential Team. Dr. Alvarez also oversees the Stanford Emergency Medicine Physician Wellness Fellowship and chairs the Stanford WellMD's Physician Wellness Forum. Additionally, he directs the Stanford WellMD Physician Resource Network (PRN) Peer Support Program. His work emphasizes humanizing physicians' roles, focusing on individual and team potential within high-performance environments. This involves enhancing Process Improvement (Quality and Clinical Operations), Recruitment (Diversity and Representation), and Well-being (Inclusion and Belonging). Dr. Alvarez was a Faculty Fellow at the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign in 2021-2022.
