Aging Wisely – Successful Caregiving

This class is co-sponsored by the Stanford WorkLife Office.

Caregiving for an adult is a skill-based practice, yet many times people fall into a caregiver role out of necessity, with little preparation for what is involved or how to be effective.

In this free webinar, we will go over the nuts and bolts of caregiving, both practical and emotional, so that you can have the tools you need to be successful. We will explore the critical skills of developing support teams, patient advocacy, and proactive planning as well as management skills for budgeting time, money, energy, and self-care. Strategies and practices will be discussed that can support success, ensuring that both the caregiver and care recipient feel respected, affirmed, appreciated.

This webinar is part of the Aging Wisely class series, providing a compassionate environment to explore your questions and concerns and help you gain a holistic perspective on how to approach long-term care planning for yourself or a loved one. Through presentations and online discussions, you will learn strategies and tools to help you assess your specific long-term care needs and explore solutions to common questions related to care planning.

Whether you are a caregiver to others or interested in your own future care, you will have the opportunity to develop a customized long-term care roadmap supporting you to successfully plan for care, with the input, advice and support of an expert in gerontology.

This class will be recorded and a one-week link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants. To receive incentive points, attend at least 80% of the live session or listen to the entire recording within one week.
