Accessing Your Wise Mind: Harness the Power of Emotions and Logic for Adaptive Action–Mindfulness
In this four-week workshop series, participants will learn concepts and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that can support understanding—and more effectively responding to—one’s emotional experience. The first meeting will address Mindfulness followed by Emotion Regulation in the second week, Distress Tolerance in the third, and Interpersonal Effectiveness in the closing week.
Each meeting, Help Center counselors Jean Sapiro and Joe Orovecz will cover specific skills as well as offer opportunities to practice and explore implementation of these skills in day-to-day life. Participants are welcome to attend all or a subset of the four sessions. With its focus on the general application of DBT, the series is offered for educational purposes only and is not intended to serve as clinical treatment.
