A Future We Can Love: A Virtual Book Talk with Susan Bauer-Wu

The University of California’s Center for Climate, Health and Equity and the Climate Change & Mental Health Special Initiative of the Chair at Stanford University welcome Susan Bauer-Wu, President of the Mind & Life Institute for a public presentation.

Drawing on her recent book, A Future We Can Love, Bauer-Wu will share her reflections on the psychological, emotional, and spiritual challenges that the climate catastrophe presents to each human on earth, and how each of us can harness those challenges to unite with a shared, transformational vision of a safe, equitable future of human flourishing. A Future We Can Love begins from a conversation between the Dalai Lama and Greta Thunberg about the urgency of protecting the planet, and goes on to draw on wisdom gleaned from conversations with dozens of visionary scientists, activists, and spiritual luminaries.

Susan Bauer-Wu will be joined for this presentation by Dr. Elissa Epel, Co-Director of the Mental Health Taskforce for the Center for Climate, Health and Equity and Dr. Britt Wray, the Director of the Special Initiative of the Chair on Climate Change and Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Stanford University School of Medicine.
