Presented By:
July Lee, MD | Chief Resient, Stanford Pediatrics Residency Program
Bradford Nguyen, MD | Chief Resient, Stanford Pediatrics Residency Program
Samantha Scanlon, MD | Chief Resient, Stanford Pediatrics Residency Program

Session Description:
Physicians are increasingly using social media for new research, networking, and sharing information. The pandemic has also led training programs to shift to virtual formats. During the 2020-2021 academic year, social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Slack) were integrated into our residency program to promote communication, education, and connectedness. In this session we’ll discuss successes and lessons learned along the way.

Education Goals:
Describe the role of social media in medical education
Discuss the implementation of social media in the pediatric residency program
Evaluate the impact on resident communication, education, and connectedness
