Maintaining Brain Health
Your brain is an amazing organ, underlying your ability to communicate, make decisions, solve problems, and live a productive and satisfying life. Although some reduction in function is expected as we age, research shows that lifestyle choices can have a significant impact on brain health. In fact, a third of Alzheimer’s disease cases worldwide are estimated to be at least partly attributable to seven modifiable factors.
In this noon webinar, you will learn practical strategies that you can put into place in your daily life to improve and maintain cognitive function as you age and decrease the likelihood of impairment. You will discover how changes in what you eat, how you move, how you sleep, and more can impact not only the health of your body but also your mind. By integrating these changes into your lifestyle, you can keep your brain functioning at its best for today, tomorrow, and years to come.
This class will be recorded and a temporary link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants, which will be active for one week. Stanford University benefits-eligible employees must attend the live session in order to receive BeWell incentive points.
Instructor: Irina Anna Skylar-Scott, MD, is a board-certified clinical assistant professor of neurology and neurological sciences at Stanford University. Her clinic is dedicated to caring for patients with changes in memory, language, behavior, and other aspects of cognition and conduct.
