Healthy Kitchen, Cooking Together – Create a Stress-Free Family Meal
Research shows that families who have regular meals together are more likely to eat more nutritious foods, feel better about themselves, and feel more connected with each other. Yet actually getting a healthy meal on the table is easier said than done, especially for busy working parents.
Join us for this special virtual cooking class that will help you get a healthy meal on the table just in time for dinner. Youâ??ll learn feeding guidance and tips for nurturing healthy habits for families with kids. Then roll up your sleeves and get ready to start cooking! Our Healthy Kitchen staff will guide you through a live demonstration over Zoom to cook an easy, flexible, and healthy entrÃ©e that is suitable for everyone in your family.
The menu will be an easy sheet pan meal featuring crisp, oven-baked nuggets (protein of choice – tofu, fish, or chicken), complimented with roasted potato wedges, tomatoes, and zucchini topped with tasty seasoned bread crumbs. Feel free to involve your kids in the activity if they are age appropriate.
The recipe will be emailed the week before the class, so youâ??ll have time to shop for ingredients in advance. Ingredient substitutions will be suggested to accommodate most dietary restrictions.
Instructor: Rosalyne Tu, MS, RDN, has been working as a dietitian since 2003 and has been teaching the Healthy Kitchen series of classes at Stanford since 2011. She is currently a nutrition coach and instructor for BeWellâ??s Healthy Living program and manager of the BeWell Wellness Profile.
